This is not an exact transcribe. But yeah. That happened on BGT and I was kinda proud.
So. I have been watching The Great Doctor(Faith) on Hulu.
IT IS AMAZING.
I have fallen in love with kdramas. They just leave everything else so far behind its not even funny. They feel whole, emotional, character driven, fantastic plots that make sense, female and male characters are ALL treated with respect and despite tropes and cliches being involved (and when aren’t they in anything?) they are subverted, they don’t feel contrived and it is all so emotionally and dramatically satisfying I could eat the TV.
I am so happy to have become a fan of a new type of genre. One that seems to be tailor made for all the things I love in stories, action, drama, romance, character development.
I just want everyone to go watch this show. So I can talk about my Captain feels and Eun Soo feels and ALL the characters break my heart, have meaning, have agency and it is SO FREAKING WELL WRITTEN.
I have two episodes left. I don’t want to watch because I don’t want it to end. THAT’s HOW GOOD THIS SHOW IS. I have already ordered the DVD because I will re-watch this show again and again. It is really rare for me to know that I will do that. I almost want to go back to the start and leave the ending a little longer because I’ll be so sad when its done.
Also, as an aside, the acting is brilliant. Lee Min Ho is just, effortlessly commanding and Kim Hee Sun is perfect as Eun Soo, as are all the other actors in the other roles. I love all the stories, the King and Queen and Dol Bae (MY HEART) and Ki Cheul is a fabulous villain.
Just watch this show.
